This upgrade changes any Gungnir into Gungnir Multibit*–AKA an "Yggdrasil Junior."

  • In actuality, it's a lot like Yggdrasil, using the same proprietary closed-form digital filter and precision multibit DACs. In this case, the DACs are AD5781BRUZ rather than Yggy's AD5791BRUZ, but there's still 4 of them for true hardware balancing, and they're followed by discrete JFET buffers for simplicity and excellent performance.   

    For this upgrade, your Gungnir needs to have its motherboard firmware updated by us, or by an authorized service center such as Electromod in the UK. This requires a specific programming device with an RJ12 connector, as well as software. Because of this, there is no self-install option, sorry.

  • 2-Year Warranty, Made in USA

    Gungnir Multibit upgrades are covered by a 2-year warranty, or by the balance of the remaining factory warranty, whichever is greater. For out-of-warranty Gungnirs, this re-activates the warranty on the complete product for 2 years. One caveat: Schiit may refuse to do upgrades on heavily modified products. Like all Schiit products, the Gungnir Multibit upgrade is made in the USA.

  • D/A Conversion IC: Analog Devices AD5781BRUZ x 4 (2 per channel, hardware balanced configuration)

    Digital Filter: proprietary Schiit bitperfect closed-form digital filter implemented on Analog Devices SHARC DSP processor

    Analog Stages: Fully discrete JFET buffers for balanced output and discrete JFET summing stages for single-ended output, direct coupled throughout

    Frequency Response, Analog Stage: 20Hz-20Khz, +/-0.1dB, 1Hz-200KHz, -1dB

    Maximum Output: 4.0V RMS (balanced), 2.0V RMS (single-ended)
