“Detail, definition, dynamics, timbre, plus outstanding coherence. Everything you need to bring music to life.”
The Anthem Reference is a completely new cable design and its ARAY conductor configuration brings outstanding dynamics right through the frequency range, excellent detail and definition and a coherence that allows you to see, understand and engage with whatever musical performance you are listening to.
The original Chord Anthem was the first of our interconnects to make use of a high frequency effective shielding system.
The performance advantage that the shielding system produced inspired the company to experiment further and produce the Chord Signature and Indigo interconnects. These in turn have influenced the design of the Anthem 2. The shielding system is now more effective. Combined with the silver plated, oxygen free copper multi stranded conductor and PTFE insulation, the Anthem 2 is capable of accurately carrying very fine levels of detail and dynamic information across a wide band width.
Capable of producing an extremely dynamic sound over a wide band width, Anthem 2, when used in a system with speakers capable of serious bass extension, will really help to produce superbly defined bass notes that can be felt as well as heard.
The silver-plated conductors are insulated with PTFE, surrounded with an extremely effective dual layer shield and terminated with Neutrik XLR connectors chosen after a lot of listening tests, where we compared most of the available XLR connectors.
The design of the Anthem Reference with its ARAY conductor set makes for a cable that works exceptionally well when fitted with XLR connectors. It will carry a signal from any component more accurately.
Almost regardless of the cost of your components, connecting them with Anthem Reference will show you just how important interconnects can be when it comes to enjoying and becoming immersed in and amazed by your favourite albums.
The Chord Anthem Reference is another design that has been heavily influenced by the work we have done in developing the ARAY technology that appears on our high end interconnect cables. Heavy gauge, silver-plated oxygen free copper conductors are insulated with PTFE and arranged in a repeating spiral before being over-extruded with a soft PVC to minimise mechanical noise.
The shielding comprises of an extremely dense braid in combination with a heavy gauge foil over-wrap. This provides a high degree of interference protection across a very wide frequency range. The shields are protected with a soft vibration damping outer jacket.
The Anthem Reference, like the Chorus Reference, is heavily influenced by our Sarum Tuned ARAY cables. The tri conductor configuration means that we can produce a balanced XLR cable that performs to extremely high standards and benefits from having an extremely effective, fully floating high frequency shield. The silver-plated conductors are connected to the silver-plated pins on the XLR with our own high performance silver solder.
CONDUCTORS: Silver-plated oxygen free copper multi-strand signal conductor. Spiralled external signal return conductor
CONFIGURATION: Internal shielded signal conductor with spiralled external signal return path
CONDUCTOR INSULATION: Low density foamed PTFE outperforms conventional extruded PTFE. We believe that to obtain the most neutral tonal characteristic from silverplated conductors it is vital to use PTFE insulation.
SHIELDING: High frequency effective dual layer shielding surrounding signal conductor. Heavy gauge overlapped foil shield surrounded by 100% coverage silver-plated braid.
JACKET: PTFE shielding surround and external braided jacket.
TERMINATIONS: XLR Plugs
