Elektra is a very sophisticated, over-engineered Full Dual Mono DAC with the latest and most special components used today. Elektra is based on 8 AKM latest generation DAC chips (4/channel) in Dual Mono with Class-A full-discrete output stages. Our digital team consists of highly skilled engineers who have worked years in digital design and in cooperation with our analogue team set one goal! To push the boundaries of what is possible to be achieved in digital reproduction today, with the use of cutting edge technology, very high quality components, no compromises! To create a Digital to Analogue Converter that can perform at the level of all Pilium products!
As a concept we chose the hard way and we designed everything from the beginning. We have designed and implemented on board our own special USB receiver (no OEMs here), we used our own special re-clocking technique, with only 1 (!) software programmable Femtoclock for extreme accuracy, we used 10 ultra low noise (full discrete) power supplies in collaboration with the latest and more advanced linear regulators and a big power bank supply (94.000uf/channel) they achieve extremely low-output resistance. The low-frequency noise floor is very low and commendably free from significant power-supply–related artefacts. The low noise and the superb channel-separation measurements are also extraordinarily good, verifying that Elektra is powered by perfect pre-regulated power supplies with very sophisticated local power supplies. All these are implemented in optimised medical grade printed-circuit-boards.
As a result we have managed to have very-very low jitter, measured at the output of the device(!). In terms of connectivity you will find all the available inputs AES/EBU, BNC, SPDiF (with ASRC operation), TOSLINK(24/192khz), USB(32bit 764kHz, DSD 512), HDMI (future upgrade) and outputs XLR or RCA selected from our 5.2″capacitive touch screen, along with the selections of filters. Elektra uses 3 encapsulated transformers (ultra-low noise-audio-class), one for each audio channel and one only for the non-audio related auxiliaries functions.
A DAC beyond expectations… ELEKTRA.
