Etymotic was one of the pioneer companies that introduced in-ear earphones and in-ear monitors to the world, way back in the early 1980s. Consequently, it is one of the brands by which others are judged.
Most of its models are single-driver wired earphones, although recently the company has started venturing into multi-driver models. As an innovator, Eymotic holds more than one hundred patents for relevant developments, including in the fields of custom musician earplugs. It has several models of these available for sale. Unlike passive earplugs, these reduce the level of sound without changing its tonal characteristics.
