Equipped with our original RP diaphragm, which is made of highly heat-resistant polyimide film as base material and etched with copper foil.
As its name suggests, the T40RPmk3n uses a planar diaphragm of the “RP” (Regular Phase) method, which is not a conventional dynamic type. The T40RPmk3n is a further evolution of the unique sound of the planar diaphragm, which is distinctly different from that of conventional dynamic types, and realizes the one and only “RP sound.
Magnetic Circuit
One of the main features of the RP magnetic circuit is that “a large effective magnetic flux density is obtained by repelling the upper and lower magnets, and the diaphragm is sandwiched between them. This makes it possible for the RP magnetic circuit to “obtain a symmetrical magnetic flux density distribution with respect to the vibration direction of the diaphragm” and succeeds in achieving overwhelming linearity. In addition, a “rod-shaped neodymium magnet” is used for the magnet, which succeeds in obtaining a larger magnetic flux density and greatly improves the efficiency.
Wide playback bandwidth, excellent transient characteristics, and high input resistance up to 3,000mW, enabling the unit to accommodate a wide variety of music sources with ease.
The printed coil (equivalent to a voice coil) pattern with zigzag shape is used to ensure uniform vertical and horizontal movement (no blurring), which increases the amount of information, especially in the mid and high frequency range, and provides excellent vocal reality, for example. In addition, the use of copper foil as the printed coil material provides a high input resistance and further improves sound quality. In addition, the use of polyimide, which has an established reputation as a high heat-resistant material, for the base film material provides the high input resistance that is indispensable for professional headphones.
Low-resilience, high-grade earpads are used. Soft and comfortable to wear, enabling comfortable monitoring even after long hours of use.
High-quality earpads made of low-resilience urethane are used for stress-free monitoring during recording, mastering, and other long-time monitoring tasks.
Two types of connection cables are included for use in different operating environments.
A single-sided headphone cable that can be easily connected and disconnected is used. In addition to the Φ6.3mm stereo phone cable (3m), two types of Φ3.5mm stereo mini phone cables (1.2m) are included for convenient mobile use.
