This must spin the disc with enormous consistency, while protecting it from physical noise generated by the outside world, or indeed by the turntable itself. There are belt drive turntables and direct drive models. Some feature traditional styling, while others are eye drawing in their radical layouts. Some feature built-in phono pre-amplifiers – the output from a phono cartridge may need to be pre-amplified by 40dB or more and subject to some extreme EQ to be suitable for use with a regular line input. Some even have USB connections, which can facilitate archiving your records to digital storage using a computer and free software, such as Audacity.
There are even some turntables which are network friendly and are able to send music to speakers in other rooms via MusicCast or other network audio products.
