The US company Shure has seemingly been around forever. Indeed, it began operations almost a hundred years ago, in 1925 in Chicago in the United States. Many audiophiles will know the company from its legendary range of cartridges over the decades, and especially the V15 series, with their remarkably low stylus pressure and high “trackability”. Many others will know it from such microphones as the SM58, still in production and widely used after 55 years.
But over the past fifteen years or so, Shure has entered the headphone market, drawing on its vast audio knowledge. There’s a good chance that something in its range of mid-priced offerings will be just what you’re after.
