Description

  • The A1 microphone pre-amplifier uses a discrete, class A design with a current-feedback amplifier architecture, delivering up to 60 dB of clean gain. It is transformer balanced on both the input and output, ensuring low noise, low distortion, and wide frequency bandwidth.
  • The A1 features a unique, digitally-controlled de-esser designed for smooth and natural sibilance reduction. It uses a multiplying D/A converter running at 500 kHz sample rate as the variable gain element, allowing for precision control and reduced noise compared to traditional de-essing solutions.
  • Equipped with Lundahl transformers on both the input and output, the A1 ensures high-quality signal transmission with minimal loss and color, suitable for any professional recording situation.
  • The A1 includes a -24 dB pad for line-level sources, a low-cut filter adjustable to 40 or 80 Hz, and 48V phantom power. These features make it adaptable to various recording scenarios, whether using microphones or line-level sources.
  • Two A1 modules can be side-chain linked for stereo operation of the de-esser, making it suitable for handling stereo recordings. The A1 is designed to fit into any API 500-series rack, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of professional audio setups.
